Archived as originally published. Information reflects the date of this article.

An investigation is underway into the death of a contract worker at an industrial terminal. Capt. Crystal Holmes with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tells KFDM/Fox 4 News deputies responded to the call shortly before 3 p.m. Monday at the Energy Transfer company terminal in the 2300 block of Twin City Highway, just outside of Nederland. The Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of the worker, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett says the worker fell from a scaffold. The judge was on scene and ordered an autopsy. Later on Tuesday, Judge Burnett identified the worker as Franklyn Aguiar, 27, of Dayton. "My thoughts and prayers go out to the man's family," said Judge Burnett. The terminal is an above ground crude oil storage facility.
