A woman is dead following a auto pedestrian accident that occurred late Saturday evening on Interstate 10, just west of Beaumont.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says the accident occurred between Smith and Boyt Roads and that the driver of the vehicle stopped and is apparently cooperating with police.
Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. told our news partner KFDM the woman died at the scene shortly before 11:45 p.m. and he’s ordered an autopsy. However, Collins did not release the name of the victim pending formal notification of next of kin.
