A woman has been indicted and jailed after she allegedly tried to hire a hit-man to kill the father of her child in Hardin County.

Lumberton Police Chief Danny Sullins says 31-year-old Jamie Kelly McLain, of Nederland, was arrested at her father’s home in Orange County on Tuesday and will be transferred to the Hardin County Jail.

According to Chief Sullins, McLain tried to hire 46-year-old Brian Crawford Townsley, of College Station, to kill the man. Sullins says Townsley has also been arrested.

Both McLain and Townsley have been charged with Criminal Conspiracy and if convicted, they each face 2-20 years in prison.
