ONALASKA, Texas (KTRE) - Two people have been arrested after 16 pounds of marijuana, vape pens and several candy-like packages of edibles were found in home at children’s reach.
Mohammad Shoaib and Komal Jiwani, both of Onalaska, are charged with three counts of child endangerment and other drug-related charges.
The investigation began after deputies received tips from concerned citizens about a home in the Creekside Sub-Division off FM 356 in Onalaska.
A search of the home later found 16 pounds of high-grade marijuana, 115 THC vape pens, marijuana edibles and about eight ounces of THC wax.
Detectives said several of the edible packages were designed to look like candy and snack items that would be appealing to children and were easily accessible to young children living at the home.
Shoaib and Jiwani are charged with possessing between five and 50 pounds of marijuana and manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance along with three counts of child endangerment.
