Woman aimed gun at Lufkin officer, he shot and killed her

Video from both a Ring doorbell camera and a body camera shows that a woman with a handgun aggressively charged at a Lufkin police officer with the gun pointed at him and he was forced to shoot and kill the woman. It happened at about 6:00 Wednesday evening. According to Lufkin police, the officer was sent to Great Oaks Apartment on Old Union Road on the west side of town when it was reported that two males were kicking on an apartment door. The officer’s body cam shows him ringing the apartment doorbell and then backing away from the door. A few seconds later the woman opened the door and immediately pointed the gun at him while yelling obscenities. The officer began retreating backwards as the woman continued charging toward him, and he then fired four shots which dropped her to the ground immediately. She was pronounced dead on arrival at a Lufkin hospital. The identities of the woman or the officer have not yet been released.
