Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark said a driver was arrested on drug charges following a rollover wreck in south Newton County late Thursday morning. It occurred at about 11:30 on County Road 4132 just off of Highway 87 in the Deweyville area. According to DPS Sergeant Shana Clark, 23-year-old Angel Sutton, of Newton, was driving a 2016 Chrysler passenger car “…at a speed which was unsafe on a loose gravel road and lost control, causing the passenger car to travel into the ditch and overturn.” Sergeant Clark said troopers discovered promethazine, a drug with a sedation effect, along with other prescription pills. Sutton was arrested and Clark said she’ll be charged with two counts of Possession of a Dangerous Drug.
