A wildfire was raging west of Kirbyville on Friday afternoon. Firefighters from Kirbyville, Tri-Community, and the Texas A&M Forest Service were battling the blaze in the area of Farm to Market Road 1013 and County Road 413. In addition to firefighters and bulldozers on the ground, a helicopter was making aerial water drops in an effort to stop the spread of the flames. There’s no word on how the fire may have started.
