One person was injured in an auto accident that occurred west of Kirbyville on Sunday Two vehicles were traveling west on FM 82 just after County Road 404 when a Kia Sorento struck the rear of the white Jeep Cherokee. The Jeep, driven by Gary Brown from Kirbyville, said that he was attempting to slow down as he was coming up to someone on a lawnmower on the side of the road when he was struck from behind. The Jeep rolled several times before coming to rest on the south side of FM 82. The Sorento veered right and came to rest in the trees along the north side of FM 82. The driver, passenger, and two small children were uninjured. Brown was assessed at the scene, and first responders initially called for air transport but opted to transport him by ambulance to the hospital.
