A vehicle hit a power pole on South Bowie Street near Elijah's Cafe early Wednesday morning, knocking out power to the Jasper High School and forcing the administration to cancel classes for the day.
Workers from the City of Jasper's Electrical Department soon arrived at the scene and began the work of installing a new pole and re-stringing power lines.
Police said the accident occurred when a 2017 Honda Civic, which was headed west on Nelson Street collided with a 2005 Buick LeSabre, which was headed south on Bowie Street.
Officers said the driver of the Honda, Chloe Collins 18, of Jasper and the driver of the Buick, Lester Hawthorn, 24, also of Jasper, were not injured in the crash.
Electric power was restored shortly after noon and later in the day the superintendent John Seybold said all classes would return to their normal schedule on Thursday.
