SHERMAN, Texas (KLTV) - A Tyler man has been arrested in connection to a 2021 federal indictment connecting him to a marijuana trafficking ring.
Jarmar Duran Griffin, 42, is charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to commit money laundering.
The indictment, which redacts the names of six other co-conspirators in the case, alleges members of the conspiracy purchased vehicles, houses, jewelry and other assets with money from the sale of marijuana and placed them in the names of third parties in order to conceal the unlawful activity. It also alleges they transported U.S. currency from the U.S. to Mexico
U.S. Marshals booked Griffin into the Hopkins County Jail on Monday. He is set for a temporary detention hearing at 10 a.m. at the federal courthouse in Plano.
