Tyler man accused of sexually assaulting young girl

TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - An 18-year-old Tyler man is in jail after he allegedly sexually assaulted a child. According to a report by the Smith County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of a sexual assault occurring at a residence in the 2700 block of County Road 326 around 10:15 p.m. Tuesday. During their initial investigation, the deputies were informed that Eugenio Hernandez-Gonzalez had sexually assault a seven-year-old girl at the residence. Hernandez-Gonzalez was arrested after multiple search warrants were obtained, searches conducted and physical evidence obtained. He is currently booked into the Smith County Jail on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child with a $750,000 bond. The alleged victim was interviewed by the Children’s Advocacy Center in Tyler for physical and mental assistance.
