One person was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle auto accident that occurred shortly after 5:00 on Tuesday evening at the intersection of South Bowie Street and Highway 190 here in Jasper. Firemen, police and other emergency crews were dispatched to the location during the busy afternoon traffic when it was reported that the crash had occurred in front of Elijah's Cafe. What caused the cash and the identify of those involved is unknown as police investigate the incident and prepare to issue a final report. The volunteers of the Jasper Fire Department were also dispatched to the Westlake Community shortly after 10:00 on Tuesday evening, when someone reported that a large fire was burning near the intersection of Farm to Market Roads 2800 and 3414. Firemen arrived at the location to find the fire was a controlled burn that the owner of the property was monitoring the blaze in an open field.
