Two people had minor injuries following a Tuesday morning crash. It happened at about 7:30 on Highway 96 a few miles south of Jasper.
Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark said Stephanie Gilder, 43, of Jasper, was driving a Toyota Carolla northbound behind a Chevrolet van, driven by a 41-year-old man from Georgia.
According to Sergeant Clark, the driver of the van slowed to turn onto the center median and was struck from behind by the car.
The car then went off the highway and crashed head-on into trees.
Gilder and her passenger were both taken by ambulance to Jasper Memorial Hospital.
Sergeant Clark said Gilder was issued a citation for failure to control speed.
