Two people are now dead and another is still undergoing hospital treatment following an auto accident that occurred early Monday morning on US Highway 59 South of Lufkin.
Officers with the Lufkin Police Department said the on vehicle auto accident occurred around 9:00 as a Chevrolet Tahoe which was traveling north on Highway 59.
Alisha M. Scott, 43, of Grapeland was pronounced dead at the scene and Tiffany Rutland, 49 of Alto died a short time later while undergoing hospital treatment. Another individual, who has not been identified, is reported to still be undergoing treatment.
