The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified the two people who were killed in an early Monday afternoon crash on Highway 96 just south of Jasper.
According to DPS, Carolyn Brewster, 79, was driving a Volkswagen SUV northbound and she crossed onto the southbound lanes and collided head-on with a Dodge pickup truck, driven by 65-year-old Debra Pedigo, of Weatherford.
Brewster, who was a resident of Buna and a passenger in the pickup truck, 66-year-old James Pedigo, of Weatherford, were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Debra Pedigo was taken by ambulance to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with life-threatening injuries.
