Tragedy struck at Crystal Beach on Wednesday morning when two contract workers, who were working on an Entergy electrical sub-station under construction, were hit and killed by a vehicle.
The Galveston County Sheriff’s Department says it’s believed that the female driver, who wasn’t identified, may have suffered a sudden medical emergency, resulting in her SUV going off of Highway 87 and striking the two workers from behind.
One died at the scene while the other was transported to UTMB in Galveston and died shortly after arrival. Their names have also not been released.
