The Texas Association of School Boards has named West Sabine ISD Superintendent Dr. Carnelius Gilder the Region 7 Education Service Center Superintendent of the Year. That places Gilder in the running for the Texas Superintendent of the Year.
In a statement the TASB wrote “This prestigious award recognizes Dr. Gilder's exceptional leadership, dedication to educational excellence, and unwavering commitment to the students, staff, and community of West Sabine ISD.”
Coming up in August, the State Selection Committee will interview all regional winners and will select five state finalists. The Superintendent of the Year will be announced at the education entity’s annual convention late this year.
