TRINITY COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - A man has pleaded guilty to attempting to solicit a minor following an undercover investigation by the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office. Steven Lee Myers, 49, received six years confinement and lifetime sex offender registration following an investigation by the sheriff’s office. According to the sheriff’s office, Myers originally made inappropriate advances on a juvenile girl at her place of work. The girl alerted her parents to his actions and they contacted the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office who launched an undercover investigation. Myers attempted to solicit the person he assumed was the girl despite knowing she was a minor. He also sent explicit pictures to the presumed juvenile. After obtaining a warrant, sheriff’s investigators arranged to meet with Myers, who believed he was meeting the juvenile girl. Myers was taken into custody without incident. According to the sheriff’s office, aside from the first encounter, the victim was never in contact with Myers or otherwise placed in danger.
