The body of a teenager who drowned in Village Creek just north of Lumberton Monday afternoon was recovered at about 8:30 Tuesday morning. Hardin County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Chris Ingram has identified the victim as 17-year-old Eric Forse, a resident of Jefferson County. Meanwhile, the judge has ordered an autopsy. Forse was swimming with friends and they reported that he went under water and never resurfaced.

A search for a missing teenager began Monday afternoon in the waters of Village Creek just north of Lumberton. A Texas Parks & Wildlife official said it was reported that a 17-year-old boy was swimming with friends when he went underwater and never resurfaced. State game wardens, National Park Service rangers, Silsbee firefighters, and Hardin County deputies are all involved in the search operation.
