What started out as a controlled burn went the other way on Tuesday morning at a home in North Jasper County.
The volunteers of the Lake Rayburn Fire Department were dispatched to the home of Savannah Dupont just east of Highway 96 on Recreational Road 255, shortly before 11:00, when it was reported that a trash fire had got out of control, destroyed an early model Chevrolet sedan and was moving towards structures.
The firefighters arrived at the scene and within a short time had put the fire out, eliminating the threat to structures.
No injuries resulted from the incident.
