COUSHATTA, La. -- Only minor injuries were reported Wednesday morning when a tractor-trailer driver drove into the path of a train in Red River Parish. The Red River Parish Sheriff's Office said the collision happened just before noon at Hutchinson (Creighton Oilfield) Road and state Highway 515. The trailer, which was loaded with diesel fuel, was heavily damaged. No derailment was involved. Louisiana State Police and Hazmat units as well as DEQ personnel are in route and will work the scene of the accident. Motorists are asked to avoid the area. The road is closed at the intersections of U.S. Highway 71 and highway 515 in Red River Parish and at Highway 514 in East Point near Riverdale Academy. There's no word when Highway 515 will reopen.
