Jasper County deputies were able to reunite a toddler with family members after the child was found wandering alone late Tuesday morning.
Deputy Cody Christopher responded after a mail carrier found the 3-year-old at about 11:00 at the intersection of County Roads 135 and 136, just west of Jasper.
The report said deputies went door-to-door until they finally found the child’s uncle. According to the report, the child was with the uncle who was asleep and the child managed to open the house door and leave.
Deputies then found the mother and released the child to her.
No charges have been filed and the case has been turned over to Child Protective Services.
