A Thursday morning crash on the west side of Jasper resulted in injuries. It happened at about 7:30 on Highway 63 West at Farm to Market Road 777. According to the Jasper Police report, Lexi Farris, of Port Neches, was driving a 2016 Ford Edge SUV eastbound on Highway 63 and slammed into the back of a 2024 Cadillac Lyric which was stopped at the stop sign and driven by Megean Martinez, of Jasper. The report said Farris told officers that she was blinded by the sun and didn’t see the stop sign or the vehicle stopped at it. She was issued a citation for Failure to Control Speed. Megean Martinez and her passengers, Ayden Martinez and Max Martinez, along with Lexi Farris were all transported by ambulance to Jasper Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries.
