A man was killed and two people were injured after an ATV collided with an vehicle on Wednesday evening in the Call Community. The crash occurred shortly before 7:00 on Farm to Market Road 1004 just north of County Road 3092 in Newton County. According to DPS Sergeant Shana Clark, 55-year-old James Reliford, of the Call Community, was driving a 2015 Kawasaki side-by-side eastbound on the highway when he went into the westbound lane and collided head-on with a 2018 Kia SUV, driven by Henriette Myers, 53, of Bon Wier. Reliford was pronounced dead at the scene. Myers and a passenger in her vehicle were both taken by ambulance to St Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with non-life-threatening injuries. Operating an ATV on a highway, road, or street is illegal in Texas.
