KFDM is reporting that a third suspect is now in custody in Beaumont on charges of murdering 39-year-old Ebonie Gilbert outside her home on the city's north side in what police have called a brutal, cold blooded murder that was recorded on Gilbert's video doorbell device. Police there believe the series of events began on Thursday evening, when Gilbert heard someone breaking into her car and went outside to investigate. The first break in the case came when police released video from the doorbell to the local media, which showed a man shooting and killing Gilbert. A short time later, police received word that a woman had seen the images and identified the man as her son, 21 year old D'Corey Shillow of Beaumont and turned him in. Following the questioning of Shillow and further investigation, officers later arrested Tydrick Davis, and Javonte Turner, both 21 and also of Beaumont in connection with the crime. KFDM is now reporting that Shillow has cooperated with detectives and not only admitted to his involvement in the crime, but also provided details about the killing that resulted in the arrest of Davis and Turner. Judge DeRouen set bond on Turner at $800,000 during a jail arraignment Monday and ordered that he wear a GPS monitor, remain in Jefferson County, and have no contact with the co-defendants. Bond on Shillow and Davis has been set at $750,000. The incident occurred on Bennet Street, which is located between Bigner and Helbig on the north side of Beaumont, east of Highway 96. Officers say there is evidence that Gilbert who worked in a chemical plant in Orange tried to crawl back into her home after being shot, but died before making into the house.
