NATCHITOCHES, La. – Natchitoches police now have both suspects in custody in connection with the shooting death last week of a 17-year-old. Alasia Lashay Hamilton, 20, was arrested today. She was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center on a charge of second-degree murder. Jody Hamilton, 16, was arrested Monday, also on a charge of second-degree murder. He is held in a youth detention center in Jackson Parish. Both are accused in the Sept. 24 shooting death of Matthew Daniels, 17. The shooting happened in the 800 block of July Street. Officers responded to a shots fired call and were told the Daniels had already been taken to the hospital, where he later died. Alasia Hamilton and Jody Hamilton were soon after developed as suspects. Arrest warrants were issued for their arrests on Friday.
