Three people were taken to the hospital following a two vehicle auto accident that occurred shortly after 4:00 on Sunday afternoon at the Jasper-Sabine County line on Highway 96 at Brookeland.
What happened is not clear and still under investigation, but the crash occurred in front of the Valero Fuel Stop and both vehicles came to a stop on the west side of the highway just north of the store.
Firemen from Pineland and the Lake Rayburn Fire Departments arrived at the scene and immediately went to working to free the driver of a early model Chevrolet pick up truck from the wreckage and loaded him onto an ambulance headed for Hemphill.
The driver and passenger of a late model Ford pickup truck were also transported by ambulance to a hospital in Jasper.
No fire resulted from the incident.
