State Troopers say a man from Newton died on Saturday evening when the pickup truck he was driving went off the highway and hit a tree.
A report says the accident occurred shortly after 8:00 as 25 year old Patrick Barlow was traveling north on Highway 87 in a 2005 Ford F-250 and apparently failed to make a curve near the intersection of County Road 3156, not far from Trout Creek.
Barlow was pronounced dead at the scene by Newton County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Connie Smith.
