Jasper Police Chief Garrett Foster says his officers were involved in a pursuit on Friday afternoon. Foster said an officer tried to stop the driver of a Honda SUV at the intersection of Highways 190 at 96, but the driver continued eastbound on Highway 190.
Chief Foster said the driver finally stopped at the Jasper/Newton County line, and officers discovered that he was 65-years-old and he had health issues.
Foster said the man was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital for evaluation, and due to the circumstances it’s not known if charges will be filed.
