Burkeville Fire Chief Charles Duckworth and his crew were just minutes away from lighting the fireworks at their Annual Celebration on Saturday, when the tone sounded, signaling that emergency dispatchers had received a report that Brown Suga's Cafe on Highway 63.
The firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and put the fire out limiting damage to the structure.
What caused the fire is not known, but word is that it might have began near a barbecue pit in the back of the business.
The fire was limited to the rear of the building but damage was still severe.
No injuries resulted from the incident.
