No serious injuries were reported when a side by side ATV went off the road and crashed out on Highway 63 near Harrisburg Road on Saturday evening following a brief run from police.
Word is that it began when police received a report of disorderly conduct at the Velero Convenience Store on Highway 190 at Houston Street.
Officers arriving at the scene said the ATV spin around and took off at a high speed with police in pursuit.
The chase reportedly continued east on Highway 63 until the ATV wrecked out Farm to Market Road 1738, commonly known as Harrisburg Road, where one person as reportedly taken into custody and another was treated at the scene by emergency medical technicians.
No names or other details have been released at this time pending a full report from State Police.
The volunteers of the East End Fire Department were also dispatched to a section of Highway 190, east of Jasper, near the Goodman State Prison Unit shortly after 7:00 on. Saturday evening, when it was reported that a two vehicle auto accident had occurred.
One person was taken to Jasper Memorial Hospital by private vehicle, where she was treated for what was said to be minor injuries.
