NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - A suspect is in custody after a fatal shooting in Nacogdoches early Monday. Around 1:00 a.m., officers responded to the 800 block of Fulgam Street after reports of gunshots in the area. “While officers were in route another caller reported someone had been shot,” a news release stated. “The victim was located outside suffering from at least one apparent gunshot wound. The unidentified victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. 23-year-old Jalen Boughton, of Nacogdoches, was arrested and booked into the Nacogdoches County Jail on a charge of Murder. Bond has not been set. The victim’s name was not released, pending notification of family. Nacogdoches Police said additional details on the investigation will be released at a later time.
