TRINITY COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Trinity County Deputies arrested three Lufkin men on Sunday after they allegedly dumped several large items illegally. Two callers and road cameras alerted law enforcement to the trash dumping on White Rock Acres and Waltz Road. The men had been paid to clear belongings from a nearby house, including furniture, household items and trash according to Trinity County Sheriff Woody Wallace. The officers were able to locate the house and arrest the men after a brief investigation, when they returned to pick up another load. The individuals have been identified as Charlie Stevenson Wright, 32; JaKendrick Dandre McGregor, 31; and Devon Malik Elam, 27. Wallace identified over 200 lbs. of material and at least two dumpsites, including one in a small creek. He said illegal dumping in a water way and while being paid both qualify as felony offenses. “We’ve got multiple felonies here and all they had to do was go to a legal trash facility and dump the trash,” Wallace said. “We don’t tolerate illegal dumping in Trinity County.” The sheriff advised homeowners to request a receipt from a legal trash facility whenever they pay someone to remove property, in order to avoid potential responsibility for illegal dumping.
