DERIDDER, La. (KPLC) - A Beauregard student is in custody following a social media post, DeRidder Police say. DeRidder High School, as well as all city schools, were placed on lockdown this morning, August 28, after a social media post was made with threats toward the high school, Beauregard Parish School Board superintendent Larry Hollie said. According to DeRidder Chief of Police Craig Richard, after an investigation, authorities determined there was no active shooter, no shots were fired, and no gun was found. School has since returned to its normal schedule.
