It is with great sadness that Leesville Police Department announces the death of 13-year-old James Foraker. Foraker had been reported as a possible runaway on the morning of Friday, February 18, 2022. Officers of the Leesville Police Department with the assistance of the Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office attempted to locate Foraker following up on all leads they received.
On Wednesday, February 23, 2022 Leesville Police Department received information that Foraker sometimes liked to spend time in the woods. That afternoon, Officers of the Leesville Police Department along with a community led search group began a search of the wooded area near Foraker’s home. Approximately two hours into the search, Foraker was found deceased. The matter remains under investigation at this time.
