BERWICK, La. (KPLC) - A man in St. Mary Parish is accused of releasing dogs on police officers while they were responding to a call.
Bradley Lemoine, 32, of Berwick, is currently being held at the St. Mary Parish Jail on a count of simple battery, according to the jail roster.
Lemoine’s arrest stems from a disturbance call that happened around 4:14 Tuesday afternoon, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office. Berwick police responded to the call on Tournament Boulevard when a Lemoine released two dogs to attack the officers.
One officer fired their service weapon and hit one dog, the sheriff’s office said. The other dog was safely captured, and Lemoine was taken into custody at the scene.
The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office is the lead agency in this investigation, and said more details will be released when available.
