
LUMBERTON, Texas (July 31, 2026) — A standoff lasting nearly six hours ended peacefully Thursday after a Lumberton man barricaded himself inside a mobile home while deputies attempted to serve felony probation-violation warrants.
According to Hardin County Sheriff Mark Davis, deputies responded to the 6800 block of Keith Road near Lumberton at approximately 6:30 a.m. to serve three felony arrest warrants.
The warrants were related to probation violations involving original charges of:
- Injury to an elderly person
- Resisting arrest
- Violation of a protective order
Authorities said Jerry Lynn Blalock, 58, of Lumberton, refused to surrender and barricaded himself inside the residence.
Deputies negotiated with Blalock for nearly six hours before he surrendered peacefully around noon.
No injuries were reported.
Blalock was booked into the Hardin County Jail and has been denied bond.
