A 22-year-old man is in the Hardin County Jail on a charges of communicating with a 14-year-old girl online, picking her up in Montgomery County, then bringing her back to Silsbee where he allegedly had sex with her, according to Silsbee Police Chief Shawn Blackwell. Wyatt Martin Alford is charged with Sexual Assault of a Child and two counts of Online Solicitation of a Minor. Justice of the Peace Chris Ingram set bond at $450,000 for the sexual assault charge. Bond is pending on the two other charges. Police arrested Alford on Monday, following an allegation reported to the Silsbee Police Department on Saturday, October 26.  Silsbee officers were told a 14-year-old girl was believed to be at Alford’s residence, and it was alleged he had picked up the child in Montgomery County after communicating with her through electronic means. Police found the child with Alford and returned the teen to her parents. An investigation began into how and why the child was with Alford, leading to the charges. Chief Blackwell says the investigation is ongoing and other charges are pending.
