SHREVEPORT, La. -- A man who died Sunday days after he fell following a fight in which he was struck in the head has been identified by the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office. Billy Sanders, 43, of the 3900 block of Merwin Street, was involved in a fight at his home Friday. He fell down after being hit in the head, the coroner said. Sanders was taken to Ochsner LSU Health hospital where he died at Sunday afternoon Shreveport police continue to investigate the slaying, the 41st homicide inside the city limits to date in 2024 and the 44th such death in Caddo Parish in that time. An autopsy was ordered.
