One man is the hospital and another is in jail following a shooting that at a well known barbecue business on the north side of Jasper.
Police were dispatched to Billy's Old Fashion Barbecue at 1601 North Main Street shortly after 6:00 on Saturday evening when it was reported that the incident occurred and arrived to find Marvin Earl Reed suffering from a gunshot wound.
Reed was taken to Christus Jasper Memorial Hospital where he was treated before being transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont where he was at last word still undergoing treatment.
After taking statements and investigating the incident, officers with the Jasper Police Department took Deshawn Diamante Young into custody in connection with the incident.
Jasper Police Chief Garrett Foster said he and others believed the shooting to be the result of an ongoing feud between the two men and that an investigation was underway.
Foster said additional information would be released following completion of the investigation as officers attempt to sort out the details of the incident.
