Deputies with the Jasper County Sheriff's Department are investigating what appears to have been a self inflicted stabbing at home on County Road 715 northwest of Buna on Sunday afternoon.
Sheriff Chuck Havard said it's still unclear as to exactly what happened, as officers are still trying to piece together the details, but he did confirm that it appeared that a man had stabbed himself in the neck with a screwdriver.
Word is that emergency medical technicians were dispatched to the scene. However, no additional information has been released pending completion of the investigation into the incident.
