The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Department says a scammer is contacting people in that area and claiming to be a church pastor. According to investigators, the scammer is asking them to purchase pre-paid cards and then provide him with the card numbers so that he can get the money. Investigators warn that if someone falls for this scam, the money that person lost to the scammer cannot be recovered.
