MANY, La. -- A Sabine Parish man released from prison on April 1 is back in jail on charges similar to what sent him to prison four years ago. Sheriff Aaron Mitchell said Daniel Franklin Hardy II, 39, was arrested Friday following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate contact with 12-year-old juveniles. Through witness statements and a search of Hardy's cellular devices, investigators learned Hardy allegedly engaged in indecent text messaging with the juvenile and also had direct contact with them in the Toledo Bend area. Hardy was booked into the Sabine Parish Detention Center on two counts each of indecent behavior with juveniles and computer-aided solicitation of a minor and one count of sexual battery where the victim is under age 13. He remains in jail on a $800,000 bond. Hardy, who moved to Sabine Parish from South Louisiana after his release from prison four months ago, was convicted of pornography involving juveniles and indecent behavior with juveniles in 2020. He is a registered Tier 2 sex offender. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are pending from a case involving another juvenile victim under age 13.
