RUSK COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) - The sheriff’s office is investigating after an emergency team pulled a car out of the Angelina River on Monday. An emergency squad was called out at about 10:50 a.m. after a vehicle was reported in the Angelina River near FM 1798 between FM 225 and FM 839, according to Rusk County Rescue, a part of the Rusk County Emergency Services District #1. Responders used a boat to help recover the car, which was turned over to the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office for investigation. Authorities said no one was found in or around the car. The Laneville Fire Department, Rusk County Office of Emergency Management, fire marshal’s office and a towing company assisted in the case.
