VERNON PARISH, La. (KALB) - A man from DeRidder was killed in a crash on Hwy 3226 Monday morning (March 11) near BC Doyle Road. According to Louisiana State Police, Michael Townley, 62, of DeRidder, was driving a 2004 Dodge Ram, and prepared to turn at the intersection of Hwy 3226 and BC Doyle Road. Townley entered the highway but failed to yield to a westbound loaded log truck. Townley, who was wearing a seatbelt was hit by the truck and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the log truck was also wearing a seatbelt and was transported to a local hospital for moderate injuries.
