Polk County Today is reporting that a high speed pursuit began in Angelina County and ended with a rollover crash in Liberty County. According to the report, at about 7:00 Saturday evening, Diboll Police tried to stop a 2023 Dodge Durango SUV, but the driver fled southbound on U.S. Highway 59. The chase went through Polk County and then into Liberty County where it ended on Farm to Market Road 787 at Horseshoe Lake Estates in far northwest Liberty County with the driver losing control and flipping the SUV. Law enforcement officers discovered there was six people in the SUV and every one of them were wanted for various crimes. None were injured and all were taken to jail. Their names have not yet been released pending formal charges at arraignment.
