Tri-Community VFD responds to 2nd Rollover Crash in one day

A Jasper County man was injured in a Sunday evening crash which resulted in a fire that destroyed his vehicle. Tri-Community firefighters and others responded to FM 1013 West near the Neches River at about 8:00 and arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Meanwhile, a firefighter at the scene had to be treated for a medical emergency. According to Texas Department of Public Safety Sergeant Shana Clark, 56-year-old Terry Hatch, of Magnolia Springs, was driving a late model Jeep Gladiator westbound when he struck a hog on the highway. Clark said the vehicle then went off the roadway and collided with trees, resulting in the fire. Hatch was flown from the scene to a Houston hospital for treatment. A short time later one of the volunteer firefighters began to experience a medical emergency. He was also taken to a hospital for treatment. His identity or condition are not known.
