The Polk County Sheriff’s Department in Livingston says they have busted an effort by several people who were trying to mail synthetic marijuana, commonly known as K2, to inmates in the Polk County Jail. So far, a man who was already an inmate and a woman have been charged. Investigators say they learned about the plan on November 7th, and they intercepted a package that was sent through the U.S. Mail and was intended for inmate Kenneth Lamar Lynch, 29, of Conroe. Deputies have arrested one of the people involved and they identified her as Michelle Rae Johnston, 51, of Montgomery. Lynch was charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Criminal Conspiracy, and Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility. Johnston was charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, Prohibited Substance in a Correctional Facility, and Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance.
