FLORIEN, La. -- A Sabine Parish woman died Thursday in a mobile home fire, state Fire Marshal Bryan J. Adams said Monday. The fire was reported around 8 a.m. in the 700 block of Quiet Cove Road. Firefighters found a woman in the living room who did not survive. The woman's identity was not released; however, Adams said the victim was the 47-year-old homeowner. State fire marshal deputies have determined the fire started in the master bedroom. While the exact cause remains under investigation at this time, deputies cannot rule out potentially "improperly discarded smoking materials" as a possible contributing factor, Adams said.
