Police say resident of Newton was doused with gasoline and set on fire

Newton Police Chief Will Jackson says a man was burned after he was doused with gasoline and set on fire. Jackson said it happened during a disturbance on Tuesday evening at 105 Forward Street.

The victim, 33-year-old Marlin Forward, was flown by medical helicopter to the burn center in Galveston for treatment.

Chief Jackson has not said who the suspect is, and he says the case remains under investigation and that there are substantial leads in the case.
